Golfers Start Pac-12s

STANFORD, Calif. – The sixth-ranked Stanford women’s golf team looks to continue its positive momentum at the Pac-12 Championships, Monday through Wednesday at Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton, California.

Last week, the Cardinal led from start to finish and posted a 13-stroke victory over Oregon in the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California. It was the third team win of the season for the defending national champions.

Senior Lauren Kim and junior Casey Danielson sparked Stanford by finishing second and fourth, respectively. Senior Mariah Stackhouse and sophomore Shannon Aubert tied for 14th.

All four will be in the lineup on Monday, along with freshman Sierra Kersten. Playing as an individual in only her second tournament of the season at Silverado, Kersten tied for 18th.

Seven Pac-12 teams are ranked in the top 15 nationally, headed by No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 USC.

Third-seeded Stanford begins first-round play Monday at 9 a.m. off the 10th tee. The Cardinal will be paired with eighth-seeded Oregon and 10th-seeded Oregon State.
