STANFORD, Calif. – No. 14 Stanford men’s rowing heads to Gold River, California this Sunday (May 15) to compete in the Pac-12 Championships on Lake Natoma.
The 2016 Pac-12 Championships field will feature four of the top 20 men’s rowing programs in the nation, according to the latest USRowing Coaches Poll released on Thursday. No. 14 Stanford will be joined by No. 2 California, No. 4 Washington and No. 20 Oregon State.
The conference regatta for Stanford will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT with the men’s third varsity eight race. The second varsity eight race will take place at 10:30 a.m. PT, followed by the varsity eight race at 11:00 a.m. PT. The Pac-12 women’s rowing races will be held in between the men’s races. Following the regatta, there will be an awards ceremony at 11:45 a.m. PT.

The Pac-12 Network will televise the regatta, with the broadcast airing at 11:30 a.m. PT on Saturday, May 14.
The Cardinal last competed on April 30, in the Big Row against No. 2 California at Redwood Shores.
Stanford’s varsity eight finished third in last year’s Pac-12 Championships, completing the course in 6:02.20, behind first-place Washington’s time of 5:45.00 and second-place California (5:48.90). The Cardinal placed fourth overall as a team in last season’s conference championships. The second varsity eight and third varsity eight finished fourth in the 2015 conference regatta.
Following the Pac-12 Championships, the 2016 IRA Championships will take place on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. Friday through Sunday, June 3-5.
