STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford men's and women's track and field teams will open the indoor season ranked among the Top 25 by the USTFCCCA. The men are No. 10 and the women No. 23.

Last year, the Cardinal men placed eighth and the women 16th at the NCAA Indoor Championships. All of Stanford's individual scorers – men's 3,000-meter runner-up Sean McGorty, men's heptathlon fourth-placer Harrison Williams, and women's 800 third-placer Olivia Baker – return.

Also, three of the four runners on each of Stanford's distance medley relay teams – the women placed third and the men fourth – are back too. Stanford also boasts the return of women's 3,000 10th-placer Vanessa Fraser.

Distance ace Grant Fisher, a three-time All-America already, makes his collegiate debut indoors this season, and the Cardinal women boast two freshmen cross-country All-Americans in Fiona O'Keeffe and Christina Aragon, in addition to classmate Ella Donaghu, another top distance recruit. In addition, 2015 NCAA indoor 3,000 runner-up Elise Cranny appears to be fully healthy entering an indoor campaign for the first time since that season.

Stanford opens its indoor season Saturday at the UW Indoor Preview at Dempsey Indoor on the University of Washington campus.

A full season preview, plus a meet preview will appear on GoStanford.com later this week.
