With he team score tied at 15-15, it all came down to the heaveyweight match between Butler and Cody Crawford. There was a lot of action, but no score in the opening period. Third-ranked McKenna scored the first points of the dual for the Cardinal with a dominating 5-1 decision over Jack Hathaway at 141 pounds. The sophomore recorded a takedown in the first 10 seconds of the bout and rode Hathaway for the remainder of the period.
