STANFORD, Calif. – No. 4 Stanford begins its spring season on Friday when it hosts Pacific at 11 a.m. PT in a dual meet at Avery Aquatics Center.

The matchup against the Tigers will be Stanford's first dual of the 2016-17 campaign after competing in three Fall events which did not include team scores. A live stream of the meet will be available at GoStanford.com, and admission is free.

Stanford opened its season in the Fall on Oct. 22 by traveling to the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, California, competing on only the second and final day of the meet. The Cardinal then hosted Pac-12 rivals Cal in a triple distance meet at Avery Aquatics Center on Nov. 2.

Stanford wrapped up its fall slate with a strong showing at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. The Cardinal secured 11 NCAA A-cuts that week, including a programrecord in the 500-yard freestyle by Grant Shoults (4:12.03) and a win by Abrahm DeVine (1:43.02) in the 200-yard individual medley.

Stanford was strongest in the individual medley and distance events – the Cardinal took four of the top five spots in the 200 IM, three of the top five spots in the 1,650-yard freestyle and three of the top four in the 400-yard individual medley and 500 free.

The Cardinal will swim four more dual meets during the regular season, including a home meet against No. 16 USC and trips to No. 17 Arizona State, No. 11 Arizona and No.1 Cal. The Pac-12 Conference Diving Championships will be held Feb. 22-24 in Federal Way, Washington, with the Pac-12 Swimming Championships set for Mar. 1-4 in Federal Way. The NCAA Championships in Indianapolis will be held Mar. 23-25.
