FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Wins by Bradley Christensen and Tarek Abdelghany punctuated an excellent all-around performance from Stanford's four divers this week at the Pac-12 Conference Diving Championships.

The week started with the 1-meter springboard – all four of Stanford's divers qualified for the A-final, which included the top eight divers from prelims. Christensen (375.90) claimed the crown for the second consecutive season after earning the top seed. Abdelghany (337.95) finished third, Cameron Thatcher (336.80) took fourth and Ted Miclau (293.45) scored more points in eighth place.


The 3-meter springboard took place on Thursday night, with Christensen, Abdelghany and Miclau qualifying for the finals. Christensen (370.00) finished fourth, Abdelghany (369.75) was fifth and Miclau (361.95) finished seventh.

Stanford saved the best for last, with Abdelghany and Miclau going one-two in the Platform final. Abdelghany (399.45) took the lead in the second round and never relinquished his advantage to earn his first Pac-12 diving championship. Miclau, the top seed from prelims, (398.50) made it interesting with a final dive of 87.45, the highest score of the competition to finish less than one point behind Abdelghany.  


The Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Championships continue next week with the swimming portion of the meet, which will start Wednesday evening. Point totals from the diving portion of the competition will factor into the overall totals, with the meet set to conclude next Saturday night (March 4).

Stanford's divers will compete at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on March 5-7. Live results will be available at GoStanford.com.
