STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Andrew Summerville was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday following his no-hit effort against Kansas.
Summerville combined for the fifth one-hitter in school history and first in in 14 years. The Seattle, Washington, native started and did not allow a hit in six innings. He struck out eight batters and did not allow a base runner in scoring position. He threw 97 pitches and faced just two hitters over the minimum to lead Stanford to a 6-0 victory over the Jayhawks.

The series opening shut out was part of a 27.0 scoreless inning streak for the Stanford pitching staff. It was also the first of back-to-back shut outs for Stanford -- a feat the Cardinal had not accomplished since 2005.
This is the first Pac-12 weekly honor for Summerville and Stanford's first pitcher to be recognized since Colton Hock on March 1, 2016.
Stanford's last no-hitter was from Chad Hutchinson in five-inning rain-shortened affair against Fresno State in 1998, and the last one-hitter was also a combined effort as Tim Cunningham (5.2) and Matt Manship (3.1) accomplished the feat against Santa Clara on Jan. 26, 2003.
Stanford has won five in a row for the first time since May of 2014 and has racked up 11 consecutive home wins for the first time since a streak between the 2011-12 seasons.
The Cardinal hosts five more games at Sunken Diamond this week, starting with UC Davis at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by a four-game set with Texas.
