Cardinal Remains Perfect

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The second-ranked Cardinal continued its domination of the 2017 season on Saturday as it posted a 420.450 team score to top No. 8 Air Force (406.100) and No. 18 Washington (380.300). On the day the Cardinal swept every team title and individual titles in floor, parallel bars, vault, high bar and the all-around.
 
Stanford (5-0, 3-0 MPSF) opened on rings with Taylor Seaton leading the way as he set a season-best 13.750 with Josiah Eng right behind him with a 13.700. AF's Fletcher Braunt managed to claim the event title, but Stanford took the team title with a 68.150.
 
A huge rebound on floor followed with Akash Modi collecting his second event title in floor on the year with a 14.900 with another season-high for Taylor Seaton (14.600) as the Cardinal took a 72.05 team title.
 
Next up pommel horse, Stanford posted a season-high 68.55 as a team with Akash Modi striking again with his third-straight win with a 14.600 that Robert Neff followed up with a season-high 14.150 as the Cardinal led Air Force by over four points and over 20 points to Washington at the halfway mark.
 
Seaton remained on fire, posting another season-best in high bar (14.550) before teammate Grant Breckenridge took the event title with a 14.600 in as Stanford compiled a 70.200 on high bar.
 
Season-highs were in abundance on the day as Robert Neff set his next on vault with a 14.600 to claim the event with Taylor Seaton debuting a two-and-a-half for a 14.550 en route to a 70.900.
 
Holding a 10-point lead going into the final event, the Cardinal nailed a 70.600 team score in parallel bars with Modi claiming another title with a 14.950. Grant Breckenridge kept with the theme of the day, closing out the meet with a season-best 14.300.
 
Stanford returns to action next weekend as it set's to face No. 4 Nebraska, No. 9 California and No. 13 Arizona State next Saturday. The meet is set for 7:30 p.m. PT in Berkeley at Haas Pavilion. It will be aired live on Pac-12 Networks.
