• Now in its 22nd year, the tournament is named after Peg Barnard, a tireless fundraiser for women's athletics at Stanford.
• The event features two rounds of stroke play.

Cardinal Clips
• Stanford had a productive fall, recording two seconds and two thirds in four starts. The Cardinal also captured the consolation crown at the nationally-televised East Lake Cup in Atlanta, Ga. in November, beating UCLA 3-2 in the four-team event featuring semifinalists from the 2016 NCAA Championships.
Stanford finished the campaign ranked No. 1 in the country in the GolfWeek/Sagarin Rankings.
The Cardinal was led by freshman Andrea Lee of Hermosa Beach, Calif. She won two individual titles, prevailing at the Windy City Intercollegiate and the stroke play portion of the East Lake Cup. In the latter, she defeated senior teammate Casey Danielson on the sixth hole of a sudden death playoff.
Individually, Lee is ranked No. 3 and Danielson No. 5 by Golfweek
Cardinal Contingent
The Stanford A Team will consist of Andrea Lee, Ziyi Wang, Albane Valenzuela, Casey Danielson and Sierra Kersten. The B Team will be comprised of Jisoo Keel, Quirine Eijkenboom, Madie Chou, Shannon Aubert and Calli Ringsby.
The Course
• Located in the foothills overlooking Stanford's campus, the Stanford University Golf Course is consistently rated as one of the finest courses in the world.
• Designed in 1930 by renowned architects William Bell and George Thomas, the par-71, 6,084-yard, oak tree-lined course is steeped in tradition. Throughout the years, Stanford has hosted many intercollegiate and non-collegiate events, including the Stanford Intercollegiate, Peg Barnard Invitational, Pac-10 Conference Championships, NCAA Regional, NCAA Women's Championships, USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying, U.S. Open Qualifying and The Gathering at The Farm, a former Senior PGA Tour event.
• Stanford has produced many influential women's golfers throughout the years, including amateur standouts Sally Voss Krueger and Patricia Cornett. Former Cardinal who went on to play professionally include Melinda Daniels-Price, Allison Finney, Martha Freitag, Kim Hall, Sara Hallock, 1971 AIAW champion Shelley Hamlin, Hilary Lunke, Stephanie Louden, Mhairi McKay, Joanne Pacillo, Jodi Renner, Sally Watson and Mickey Wright. Lauren Kim and Mariah Stackhouse, who sparked the program to its first NCAA title in 2015 and earned All-American honors multiple times, recently earned conditional status for the 2017 LPGA Tour.
• Notables on the men's side include former USGA presidents Sandy Tatum and Grant Spaeth, and PGA Tour professionals Bob Rosburg, John Brodie, Tom Watson, Tiger Woods, Notah Begay III and Patrick Rodgers. Current Cardinal senior Maverick McNealy is the top-ranked amateur in the world.
Looking Back on 2016
• The 12th-ranked Washington Huskies used a fast start to overcome an eight-shot final-round deficit to win the Peg Barnard Invitational by three strokes over third-ranked Stanford. Freshman Wenyung Keh and senior Ying Luo each birdied the first three holes as Washington closed with a 4-under-par total of 280 to finish at 3-over 271 (291-280). Stanford posted rounds of 287-287 to finish at 6-over 574, while Cal was third at 9-over 577 (289-288).
• Keh birdied the 16th and 17th holes in the final round to shoot a tournament-low 5-under-par 66 and earned medalist honors at 4-under 138 (72-66). Stanford junior Casey Danielson (70-69) and Luo (70-69) tied for second at 3-under 139.
