STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford returns from its bye week and begins Pac-12 play this weekend with a three-game series at California.

The Cardinal (16-10, 0-0 Pac-12) wraps up winter quarter finals this week and will begin its series against the Golden Bears (17-8, 0-3 Pac-12) Saturday at noon (PT). The teams will play again at noon on Sunday before concluding the series Monday at 3 p.m.

All three games will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks and live statistics will be available via GoStanford.com.

LAST TIME OUT
• Prior to its bye week, the Cardinal went 4-2 during a six-game homestand. The Cardinal earned a convincing 9-1 mid-week victory against UC Davis in five innings before going 3-2 at the Stanford Easton Classic.

• After a tough start in the opener of the tournament against Grand Canyon, Stanford's pitching staff was terrific and held its final four opponents to eight runs in 28.0 innings.

• Carolyn Lee (7-6) led the staff on the weekend, logging 14.1 innings and a 1.95 ERA. Kiana Pancino contributed quality innings, holding opponents to a .172 batting average in 8.1 innings.

• Bessie Noll paced the Cardinal offensively over the five games, going 4-for-10 (.400) with six walks, two doubles and two RBIs. Alyssa Horeczko appeared in three games and hit .444 (4-for-9) with a walk and two stolen bases.

THE CALIFORNIA SERIES
• Stanford is 28-45 all-time against California and went 0-3 last season. The Cardinal has lost eight in a row against the Golden Bears. Stanford's most recent victory against California came at home on March 14, 2014 – a wild 14-13 victory that included a six-run bottom of the seventh rally by the Cardinal.

A TREE AMONG BEARS
• Carolyn Lee's family has numerous ties to Cal. Her dad went to Cal and is a huge fan, and both of her older sisters played softball at Cal. Lee says her younger brother is the biggest Cal fan in the family and gives her the worst time about going to Stanford.

Her initials are "CAL" but Carolyn Lee broke from family tradition by choosing Stanford.
