Softblog: Across the Bay

A Stanford softball student-athlete has written a weekly blog in each of the past four seasons to provide fans a behind-the-scenes perspective of the team. This year, sophomore Lauren Frost is taking over the Softblog to chronicle the team's adventures throughout the season. Her sixth entry this year is below.

***Welcome back, Stanford softball fans!

It's been awhile, but finals are finally over and spring has sprung!

It's finally spring quarter and we could not be more excited because spring quarter means one thing: PAC-12 CONFERENCE PLAY!

After a bye-weekend, we started conference play this past weekend against the Golden Bears in Berkeley.

The results may not have been exactly what we were looking for but what we showed on that field speaks far louder than what the scoreboard read.

We're a scrappy bunch with so much fire and more energy than we know what to do with sometimes and I couldn't be enjoying myself more with this special bunch.

The weekend was a blast off the field and more so than usual because there was NO HOMEWORK, NO SCHOOL, NO STRESS!

Needless to say we were pretty excited!

Since I'm dying to get out and enjoy the sunshine as much as you are I'll leave you here with some of my favorite pics from the weekend to showcase some of our Berkeley adventures.

We spent an afternoon exploring the city and campus and found everything from toy stores to some cool hidden trails and campus staples.

Another "Odds" game casualty in the books – this time it was Kiana.

Forest models, anyone?

Here I am buying my new Captain America frisbee golf disc – aka the unrivaled best day of my life.

These hands could have been great for softball! If only Arden had lost "Odds" ...

We even had incredible views right outside our hotel which provided the perfect spot for morning walks with good ol' San Francisco in the distance where even some stoic squirrels couldn't get enough of the views.

We had a blast as always but the fun is far from over.

Catch us this week as we take on Utah at home for a three-game series!

As always your love and support is so appreciated by every member of this squad!

Until next time,

Frosty
