All-Pac-12 Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Junior forward Reid Travis was named to the All-Pac-12 Conference First Team in a vote by the head coaches, the league announced Monday. Senior Marcus Allen was named to the All-Defensive Team.

Travis completed the regular season as the only player in the Pac-12 and one of only five individuals in the top six conferences (Pac-12, Big 12, Big Ten, ACC, SEC and BIG EAST) to rank in the top five of his conference in scoring and rebounding. He was one of just two players (UCLA's TJ Leaf was the other) to rank in the top eight in the league in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage.

The Cardinal forward ranked in the top eight in the Pac-12 in seven different categories, including scoring (17.2 ppg, third), rebounding (8.8, fifth), offensive rebounding (3.4, first), field goal percentage (.570, eighth), double-doubles (9, sixth), free throws attempted (173, second) and free throws made (113, third).

Travis has posted nine of his 10 career double-doubles this season, averaging 17.2 ppg and 8.8 rpg. In his last eight games, the forward is averaging 19.4 ppg and 9.6 rpg, including three double-doubles. His offensive rebounding average ranks 19th nationally, while his field percentage ranks 35th nationally.

Travis posted a career-high 29 points at No. 4 Kansas, setting both Stanford and Kansas school records for free throws made (19) and attempted (22) in a single game. After missing the final 22 games of his sophomore season with a leg injury, the forward opened the 2016-17 campaign with 24 points and a career-best 17 rebounds to lead the Cardinal to a victory over Harvard in Shanghai, China.

Allen was voted to the five-member all-defensive team. The senior guard ranks fifth in the Pac-12 in steals (1.6 spg) in conference play. He continues to move up the Stanford record books and currently ranks 12th in school history with 119 career steals. Allen has recorded 21 steals in his last 11 games, and leads the Cardinal with 38 thefts overall this season. The guard has recorded multiple steals in 12 games, with a season-best four against Colorado in February.

Allen, who is also averaging 14.4 ppg over his last eight games, has guided a defense that has held eight of its last 12 opponents below their season scoring average. Earlier this season, he led a Cardinal defense that forced 41 combined turnovers in consecutive games against Cal (20) and Oregon State (21) - the most in a two-game stretch in conference play for Stanford in more than 12 years.

Travis' honor marks the fifth straight season Stanford has been represented on the All-Pac-12 First Team. Rosco Allen earned first-team honors in 2016, Chasson Randle garnered first-team laurels in 2015 and Dwight Powell took home first-team accolades in 2013 and 2014. It's the seventh time in the last eight seasons a Cardinal has earned first-team honors. Randle now plays for the New York Knicks and Powell plays for the Dallas Mavericks.

Allen is the first Cardinal to be recognized on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team since Josh Huestis in 2014. Huestis, who now plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, was a three-time member of the All-Defensive Team from 2012-14.

Stanford (14-16, 6-12) is the No. 9 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament, and will face eighth-seeded Arizona State on Wednesday (March 8) at noon PT in the opening game of the conference tournament at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
