STANFORD, Calif. - Junior outfielder Quinn Brodey was named Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week, while roommate and junior reliever Colton Hock was named the conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Brodey was also recognized as a National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball News on Monday.
Brodey had walk offs in two straight games and the game-winning RBI in three consecutive games -- all in 24 hours – to lead No. 22 Stanford to a four-game series win over Texas last week. Both walk offs came with two outs. In that same span, Hock went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, including a win in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader and a save in the nightcap.

Brodey had a hit in all five games last week and hit .409 (9-of-22) with 6 RBI, two doubles, a home run and a stolen base. He had a slugging percentage of .636 and on-base percentage of .435, and defensively, did not commit an error in five starts in center field.
In Tuesday's win over UC Davis, Brodey was 4-for-5 with an RBI, 2B and a steal. On Friday, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Brodey came up with runners at first and second and laced the game-winning single up the middle. About 18 hours later, in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday, Brodey came up with two outs and two on in the 10th inning and launched an opposite field home run for a 5-2 victory over the Longhorns. Brodey finished 2-for-5 with a run and 3 RBI. In Game 2, Brodey came through with another two-out, game-winning RBI -- his third in a 22-hour span. His single gave Stanford a 2-0 lead, and the Cardinal held on to win, 2-1 to sweep the doubleheader and win the four-game series.
For the week, Hock did not allow a run and gave up just one hit in 5.0 innings. He struck out four and held opponents to a .067 batting average.
On Friday, Hock entered the game in the eighth with no outs and the go-ahead run at first, but retired the side in order on just four pitches. After another 1-2-3 inning in the ninth, Stanford won the game in the bottom half. In Game 1 on Saturday, he entered in the 10th and retired the side in order with just six pitches, including a strike out, and Stanford won in the bottom half. In Game 2, he entered in the eighth with the tying run on first and no outs, and once again, stranded the runner. In the ninth, a throwing error put the leadoff runner at second in a one-run game, but once again, Hock got three straight outs to strand the runner, and end the game and series.

This marks the second and third weekly awards for Stanford this year. Last week, junior Andrew Summerville earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors. It is the first Pac-12 weekly honor for Brodey, and the second for Hock, who also garnered the recognition after a dominating performance against Texas last year.
Hock, Brodey and the 16th-ranked Cardinal head to Houston, Texas for a four-game set against Rice, March 9-12.
