STANFORD, Calif. – Fueled by Kelsey Murray's career-best seven goals, the Cardinal pushed its all-time record against Fresno State to a perfect 10-0 with a 17-4 win Tuesday night at Stanford Stadium as part of One Love week.
In a twist of fate as well, Murray's one assist, eight points and seven goals tied her for second in assists, third in points and seventh in goals in Stanford career history – all with the same player, Kelsey Twist.
Stanford (8-4, 3-1 MPSF) stormed out of the gate to score 10 unanswered goals in the first 23 minutes of the half with Murray putting away the first five. Fresno State (8-6, 1-5 MPSF) was able to grab a goal, but the Cardinal added three more to head into the break up 13-1.
The Bulldogs struck first 34 seconds into the second half, but a Cardinal hat trick silenced Fresno State. The Cardinal continued to dominate the game with a floodgate of fresh subs as it rolled to a 17-4 final.
