STANFORD, Calif. – A second-half surge fueled by Kelsey Murray's five goals paved the way for a Cardinal comeback Friday night as Stanford topped Oregon 17-13 in Stanford Stadium.
Stanford (9-4, 4-1 MPSF) came out sluggish in the first half with Oregon (7-7, 3-3 MPSF) outshooting the Cardinal 18-10 and out drawing Stanford 11-6. Stanford struck first in the half, but the Ducks were dominant on offense, ripping off ten goals to head into the half up 10-5.
The second half saw Stanford flip the script to emerge a different team, besting Oregon in shots, ground balls, draw controls and saves. Kelsey Murray led the assault on offense, scoring four of her five goals on the night in the half. With her five goals, Murray ties Lucy Dikeou in Stanford career history with 124.
The night also included honoring Charlotte Ward for her work with One Love and receiving the One Love Campus Unsung Hero Award as well as unveiling the new video for Stanford's One Love campaign.
