WEST POINT, N.Y. – Akash Modi won his seventh all-around crown to lead the No. 2 Cardinal to a first-place finish at the NCAA Qualifiers Friday with a team score of 420.450. The win marks the 12th consecutive year that Stanford has advanced to the NCAA Finals.

The Cardinal (20-3) claimed the session one title over No. 3 Ohio State (414.650) and No. 7 Nebraska (413.050) who will also join Stanford in the Finals. Closing out their seasons in Qualifiers were No. 6 Penn State (410.500), No. 11 Michigan (406.950) and No. 10 Air Force (403.800).

Stanford claimed team titles in three events – pommel horse (70.300), still rings (70.000) and parallel bars (70.600) in addition to three individual event titles. Modi claimed the all-around (85.950) to go a perfect 7-7 in all-around competition while Jordan DeClerk took his career-first event title on parallel bar (14.900) and Robert Neff claimed the high bar (14.600) title.

The Cardinal started out strong on pommel horse with its second-best team score of the year (70.300). Leading the charge was Akash Modi with a 14.650 to place second overall in the event.

Up next, Stanford moved to rings where it posted an uncanny 70.000 as a team after coming off a team-high of 72.250 at the MPSF Championships to hold at second place after two rotations.

With Nebraska leading, four Cardinal posted at least a 14 or better on vault to flip the script and launch Stanford into the lead, which it never relinquished.

Jordan DeClerk paved the way to another Cardinal team title after posting a 14.900 on parallel bars – his first ever title in the event. Akash Modi tied for fifth in the event with a 14.350 with Robert Neff tying for seventh with a 14.300.

On high bar only five athletes on the day posted a 14 or higher score, with three coming from Stanford. Robert Neff claimed his third high bar title of the year with a 14.900 as Modi (14.450) tied for second and David Jessen (14.300) tied for fourth.

Stanford closed out the meet on floor where Jordan DeClerk (14.450) and Taylor Seaton (14.350) placed third and fourth in the event to leave the Cardinal undefeated by any team in the NCAA except No. 1 Oklahoma.

The Cardinal now heads into the NCAA Finals where it will pursue its sixth NCAA title Saturday at 3 p.m. PT in West Point, N.Y. at the Holleder Center on the campus of the U.S. Military Academy.
