STANFORD, Calif. – No. 15 and fifth-seeded Stanford will open its postseason Wednesday afternoon as it sets to face eighth-seeded Arizona at the Pac-12 Championship. Match time is set for noon PT in Ojai, Calif.

Earlier this season, the Cardinal (14-7, 4-3) blanked Arizona 4-0 (9-16, 0-7 Pac-12) in its home confines at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium. The Cardinal has won its last eight meetings against the Wildcats, dating back to 2009. In his tenure, Paul Goldstein has never lost to Arizona. 

Coming into the tournament, William Genesen holds a six-match win streak and two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week David Wilczynski holds a two-match win streak. 

All-Time Series History
Arizona

A long-time Pac-12 opponent, the Wildcats and Cardinal go all the way back to 1973. Wednesday's match will be the 71st time the teams have met with Stanford owning an incredible 68-2 record over UA. The last time the Cardinal lost to Arizona was April 3, 2009 when a 20th-ranked Wildcat team stunned No. 8 Stanford with a 4-2 upset in Tucson.

No. 21 Oregon
A 50-year rivalry exists against the Ducks with Stanford dominating the series 30-3. The Cardinal fell 4-3 earlier this season to Oregon for its first loss to the Ducks since 2014 when it fell 4-2 in the Pac-12 quarterfinals.  All-time Paul Goldstein is 3-1 against Oregon.

The winner of Wednesday's match will face the No. 4 seed of the tournament, the No. 22 Oregon Ducks, who handed the Cardinal a3 loss in Eugene on April 2. The match will be held at 12 p.m. PT in Ojai, Calif.
