Lee Leads Golfers

TUCSON, Ariz. – Freshman Andrea Lee fired a 2-under 70 on Tuesday to help the Stanford women's golf maintain third place after two rounds of the Pac-12 Championships at windy Sewailo Golf Club.
 
The No. 3 Cardinal combined for a 10-over score of 298 and stands at 18-over 594 with one round remaining. UCLA leads at 1-under 575, followed by Colorado at 6-over 286.
 
Lee, the nation's second-ranked collegiate player and a three-time winner this season, blitzed the front nine with a 3-under 33, making birdies at the fifth, seventh and eighth holes. She added another at the par-5 10th to reach 4-under, but sustained bogeys at 12 and 16.
 
Lee played the par-5s in 3-under, and has a 36-hole total of 2-under 142. She is tied for third, five strokes behind Lilia Vu of UCLA (71-66).
 
In 22 rounds this season, Lee has shot par or better 14 times and is an accumulative 22-under.
 
Fellow freshmen Madie Chou (75-75) and Albane Valenzuela (74-76) are tied for 16th at 6-over 150, while junior Shannon Aubert (75-79) is tied for 26th at 10-over 154. Senior Casey Danielson (79-77) is tied for 33rd at 12-over 156.
 
Stanford struggled on the tougher back nine, going 17-over as a team.
 
The final round will be played Wednesday. The Cardinal start on the first tee at 8:40 a.m. PT and is paired with Arizona.
