Softblog: Fun Indoors

A Stanford softball student-athlete has written a weekly blog in each of the past four seasons to provide fans a behind-the-scenes perspective of the team. This year, sophomore Lauren Frost is taking over the Softblog to chronicle the team's adventures throughout the season. Her ninth entry this year is below.

***Welcome back Stanford softball fans!

We meet again and this time we are back and better than ever.

After a weekend long battle up north at Oregon State we pulled out an 8-6 win in scrappy fashion to upset the Beavers in game three of the series. It was a long time coming and a great team win across the board. We all couldn't be more excited!

Though the win was great the weather wasn't always and we found ourselves having to warm up before multiple games indoors which was a new experience for most of us.

Luckily though, we're a fun-loving bunch and still had a blast before the games even started with everything from playing left-handed wiffle ball, throwing passes to one another with softballs, or wearing more parkas than you could possibly ever pitch in.

After games we had to get a little more creative in terms of fun, so we often found ourselves making coffee runs, playing barrel of monkeys, walking over to Walmart to check out some toys and snacks, and, well, whatever Whitney was doing …

We then had some exciting adventures on the way home as we found ourselves traveling north to Seattle first for a layover before making it back to Stanford.

With Seattle being the airport I stop at the most when I travel to and from Alaska I was very excited to see some familiar sights and goof off with my teammates despite the exhaustion from a long day of travel.

All in all it was a great weekend and felt good to get an exciting team win! Catch us this weekend at home as we take on UCLA for three more. Thanks for all you do and we'll see you this weekend!

(Thanks for the awesome sunsets, Oregon!)

Until next time,

Frosty
