STANFORD, Calif. – A strong showing by sophomore skipper Martina Sly and freshman crew Madeline Bubb propelled Stanford to ninth place at the Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy this past weekend in Providence, Rhode Island.

Sly, who received All-America honors during her freshman season, led the Cardinal to third place in the B-division at the Dellenbaugh, sailing all eight races with freshman crew Bubb. In the A-division, senior captain Maeve White skippered the Cardinal to 14th place, with junior Haley Fox and sophomore Meg Gerli serving as crews. The Cardinal finished with 147 points, good enough for ninth place in the 18-team fleet.

Stanford was also in action for the Lynne Marchiando Trophy in Boston, finishing 12th in the 16-team field. Senior Reinier Eenkama van Dijk, junior All-American Will La Dow and freshman Jacob Rosenberg skippered the Cardinal to an 8-6 record. Freshman Taylor Kirkpatrick, sophomore All-American Kathryn Booker and junior Kennedy Placek served as crews.

This upcoming weekend, Stanford competes in two more interconference regattas – the Saint Francis Invitational at the Saint Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, and the Wick Women's Trophy in New London, Connecticut, hosted by the Coast Guard Academy.
