STANFORD, Calif. – No. 8 Stanford women's rowing will compete in the Pac-12 Rowing Championships this Sunday at Lake Natoma, near Sacramento.
Racing is set to begin at 9 a.m. PT with the novice eight grand final. The third varsity eight grand final is set for 9:30 a.m. PT, with the varsity four grand final slated for 10 a.m. PT, the second varsity eight grand final at 10:30 a.m. PT and the varsity eight grand final at 11 a.m. PT.

The Pac-12 Championships will feature six crews in the top 20 of the latest Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing Coaches Poll. Along with No. 8 Stanford, the conference championship regatta field includes No. 1 Washington, No. 2 California, No. 14 Washington State, No. 15 USC, No. 20 UCLA and Oregon State.
Stanford finished second at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships as a team. The varsity eight finished second in a very close race against California that was decided by 0.8 second. The Cardinal took third in the second varsity eight and varsity four in last year's conference championship regatta.
In its last regatta, Stanford finished second to California in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four at the Big Row on April 29 at Redwood Shores.
The Pac-12 Championships will be the second appearance for the Cardinal at Lake Natoma this season. Stanford competed in the Lake Natoma Invitational April 8-9, with the varsity eight (6:23.61) placing second to California and ahead of No. 9 Brown in its grand final.
The Pac-12 Network will televise the Pac-12 Championships, with the broadcast airing at 10:30 a.m. PT on Sunday, May 21.
Following the Pac-12 Championships, Stanford will race in the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey, from May 26-28. The NCAA Selection Show will air on NCAA.com on Tuesday, May 16 at 2 p.m. PT.
