All-Pac-12 Picks

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford was honored with five selections among this year's All-Pac-12 Team, as announced by the conference office.

The five selections are the program's most since five were also honored in 2007. However, it's also the first time in school history the Cardinal has been without a first-team honoree, a rarity that is perhaps more indicative of its stellar depth.

Senior Taylor Davidson, senior Caroline Doyle, freshman Emma Higuchi, sophomore Caroline Lampl and sophomore Melissa Lord were all appointed to the second team.

Davidson (12-10 overall, 10-7 duals), a four-time all-conference pick, was named to the second team for the second straight season. Ranked No. 54 nationally, Davidson has provided five clinching points this season and has been invited to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship for the third time in her career. Davidson has also been recognized as the ITA Northwest Region's Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award recipient.

Doyle (18-11, 9-8 duals) is a three-time all-conference second-team honoree. Ranked No. 38 nationally and holding down the No. 1 spot for the Cardinal, Doyle has compiled a 103-38 overall singles record. Doyle was recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's At-Large first team, following up her selection as the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year two weeks ago. Doyle has also been recognized as the ITA Northwest Region's Senior of the Year Award honoree.

Higuchi (31-3 overall, 20-0 duals) is arguably the best No. 6 player in the nation, having won 20 consecutive matches since her last loss back on Jan. 15. It's the longest in-season winning streak by a Cardinal player since Mallory Burdette won 21 consecutive matches in 2012. Higuchi is ranked No. 71 and leads Stanford in victories.

Lampl (25-5 overall, 18-3 duals) has picked up where she left off last season, this time holding down the No. 4 spot of the lineup. Ranked No. 90 in the country, Lampl has tallied 55 victories in 65 career matches. She has won six in a row and owns a 13-7 career record in three-setters, including the clincher in Stanford's NCAA second round win over TCU.

Lord (25-5 overall, 16-4 duals) is Stanford's highest-ranked player at No. 28. Lord, who captured her first career singles title back in January at the Freeman Memorial Championships, is 8-3 against nationally-ranked opponents and 7-0 in NCAA team competition. Lord has also been recognized as the ITA Northwest Region's Player to Watch.

Stanford (23-2), seeded No. 7 in NCAA Championships draw but ranked No. 6 in the nation, will next face No. 10 Michigan in the round of 16 on Friday at 6 a.m. PT in Athens, Georgia.
