Two Named All-Region

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford placed two players on the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region team with Kelsey Murray and Madison O'Leary being selected to the second team after both earned All-MPSF first team honors earlier this year.

The honor is the first for O'Leary and second for Murray, who was named to the first team last year.

Murray, a redshirt junior attacker, was a 2016 second team IWLCA All-American. The Wilmette, Illinois, native has posted a career-best season in goals (57), assists (30) and points (87). With another year of eligibility remaining, Murray has already claimed the Stanford career record in points (225) and is currently tied for third in goals with 142. In addition, Murray set Stanford single-season records in goals (57) and points (87).

O'Leary, a junior captain from Gainesville, Florida, has posted her best year for the Cardinal this season patrolling the Cardinal defensive end. She currently has career-bests in ground balls (21) and caused turnovers (17) on the year.

By earning All-Region recognition, each is eligible for All-America consideration. In all, 23 Stanford players have made the All-Region first or second teams.
