SEATTLE – Kylie Sorenson and Lauren Bertoy homered but it was not enough to keep pace with No. 7 Washington, as Stanford fell in the series finale, 10-2, in five innings Sunday afternoon.
Sorenson extended her hitting streak to 12 games with a leadoff home run in the top of the first inning.
The Cardinal (19-29, 2-19 Pac-12) appeared to pick up where it left off after a dominating 6-0 performance Saturday but ran into trouble in the bottom half of the first inning.
Washington's offense, which had been limited to one run and seven hits in the first two games of the series, came alive Sunday and struck early. Each of the Huskies' (40-11, 14-7 Pac-12) first six batters reached base.
A two-run double by Morganne Flores, followed by a three-run home run by Taylor Van Zee put the Huskies up 5-1.

Highlights from Stanford's defeat at No. 7 Washington.
After a terrific outing Friday evening in which she allowed only one run, Stanford starting pitcher, Carolyn Lee (8-19), was unable to register an out during Washington's fast offensive start. She was relieved by Kiana Pancino who was able to get the Cardinal out of the inning and limit the damage.
Pancino held the Huskies to two runs on six hits and one walk with a strikeout in 3.0 innings before she was replaced by Nikki Bauer in the fourth who finished the game.
The Huskies' offense chipped away at Stanford, producing at least one run in all five innings.
Facing a 7-1 deficit in the fourth inning, Bertoy led off the frame with her fourth homer of the year – a towering shot to left-center field.
That was all the Cardinal would get, however, and Washington sealed the run-rule victory with a run in the fourth inning and a two-RBI single by Flores in the fifth.
Stanford returns home for its final series of the season next week, playing host to No. 5 Oregon. The series begins Thursday at 4 p.m. (PT) and all three games will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
