STANFORD, Calif. -- The TrackTown Summer Series is coming to Stanford on Thursday with the first of three fast-paced meets featuring scored competition among four coed teams – San Francisco Surge, Portland Pulse, New York City Empire and Philadelphia Force.
The season-opening meet at Cobb Track and Angell Field begins at 6 p.m.
The TrackTown Summer Series is designed to provide top American track and field athletes with fun and innovative competitive opportunities on U.S. soil during the summer with the goal of helping those athletes become household names by the time the IAAF World Championships arrive in 2021.

Parking: Free anywhere on campus after 4 p.m.
TTSS Events: There will be 10 events: men's & women's hammer throw, women's 100-meter hurdles, women's long jump, men's high jump, men's 110m hurdles, men's 3,000m, women's 800m, men's 400m and women's 1,500m.
Scoring: Points will be awarded through eight places for each individual event: 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. In addition, teams will earn 9, 7, 6, or 5 points depending on their overall place – 1st through 4th – at each of the West Coast meets heading into the TTSS Championships in New York City.
Prize Money: Individual event payouts for Stanford/Portland meets – 1, $2,000; 2, $1,500; 3, $1,000; 4, $750; 5, $500; 6, $250.
Community Events: Youth all-comer's meet, 5 p.m.; Open 4x400m relay; Corporate 8x400m relay; Girls' 800m; Boys' mile; Kids Half-Lapper.
