STANFORD, Calif. – The start lists have been released and the TrackTown Summer Series track and field meet on Thursday night will feature 17 Olympians, including two gold medalists among four medal winners, at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Each of the four teams has eight men and eight women and their points will be awarded through eight places for each event, with a team victory and prize money on the line. The teams are the San Francisco Surge, New York Empire, Philadelphia Force, and Portland Pulse.

Most of the athletes competed last week at the U.S. Championships in Sacramento where three won national championships. Paul Chelimo set a meet record in winning the men's 5,000 meters easily in 13:08.62. American-record holder Gwen Berry captured her first U.S. outdoor title in the women's hammer throw (245-3, 74.77 meters). Bryan McBride won his first high jump title, at 7-6 ½ (2.30m).

Brittney Reese, the 2012 Olympic gold medalist and a six-time world champion, leads the women's long jump field and headlines the field. Among gold medalists, she is joined by Arman Hall, who ran the leadoff leg in the Americans' victorious 4x400 relay in Rio in August.

Other Olympic medalists competing are Chelimo, who captured silver in the 5,000 in Rio and Janay DeLoach Soukup, the 2012 bronze medalist in the long jump now competing in the 100 hurdles.

The women's hammer features four Olympians, including Berry and Amanda Bingson, who have combined for the seven longest throws in U.S. history. Also notable is 20-year-old 1,500 runner Alexa Efraimson, among the rising stars in U.S. women's distance running.

Lopez Lomong (men's 3,000) is a fascinating human interest stories for what he's overcome. Lomong was among the "Lost Boys of Sudan" before coming to the U.S. and being introduced to running. He carried the American flag during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Games.
