Pac-12 Academic Success

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford was honored with four selections to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, as announced Wednesday by Commissioner Larry Scott.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's matches. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.

Headlining the group was senior Caroline Doyle (3.87 – International Relations), who was named to the first team for the second straight year after earning second-team honors as a sophomore.

The Cardinal was also represented with three honorable mention picks in senior Taylor Davidson (3.23 – Science, Technology & Society), sophomore Caroline Lampl (3.24 – Undeclared) and sophomore Melissa Lord (3.24 – Undeclared). It's the third honor of Davidson's career and the first for Lampl and Lord.

The most decorated program in women's college tennis, Stanford (26-3, 10-0 Pac-12) produced a runner-up finish in 2017, falling to Florida and coming up short in its bid to repeat as NCAA champions. The Cardinal reached the national final despite being seeded No. 7 and has now won 16 of its last 19 NCAA matches when seeded lower than its opponent. Stanford also captured its 26th conference title and repeated as league champions for the first time since a three-year stretch from 2010-12.
