Seven Honored by Pac-12

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford was honored with a conference-leading seven selections to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, as announced Wednesday by Commissioner Larry Scott.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's matches. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.

The Cardinal led the conference in first team selections with Jack Barber (3.89 – undeclared), Michael Genender (3.94 - undeclared), Yale Goldberg (3.67 – Science, Technology & Society) and Sameer Kumar (3.73 – undeclared) all being honored. The accolade is the first for Barber, Genender and Kumar and second for Goldberg.

Stanford also placed two on the second team with Tom Fawcett (3.48 – Science, Technology & Society) and David Wilczynski (3.49 – Science, Technology & Society) being named.

Brandon Sutter (3.40 – Civil Engineering) rounded out the list for the Cardinal as an honorable mention selection.

Stanford closed out its 2017 season with an 18-9 overall record while reaching the NCAA round of 16 for the second consecutive year.
