IWLCA Academic Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – The Cardinal lacrosse team was named an IWLCA Zag Sports Merit Squad for the ninth consecutive year as announced by the organization this week.

In addition, Stanford also placed 14 members on the IWLCA Honor Roll – the most in the NCAA for the second consecutive year.

Each year, the IWLCA recognizes programs who have compiled a team grade-point average of at least 3.0. The Cardinal compiled a 3.544 team GPA to post one of the highest GPAs of all Division I women's lacrosse programs.

Stanford saw 28 of 30 members of the 2017 team post a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, with 18 accumulating a GPA of 3.5 or above.

The Cardinal led the NCAA with 14 selections to the Academic Honor Roll, which to be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. 

The Cardinal finished the season with a 12-6 record and an appearance in the MPSF Tournament semifinal.
