ITALY – Rising sophomore Albane Valenzuela went undefeated in four matches to help the Continent of Europe earn a 15-9 victory against Great Britain and Ireland in the 30th Vagliano Trophy on Saturday at Circolo Golf Club Bogogno near Milano.
Valenzuela, a PING/WGCA Second Team All-American from Geneva, Switzerland, won both singles matches, a foursome match, and halved another to post a 3-0-1 record during the two-day event.
It marked the sixth straight victory for Europe in the competition that began in 1959.
Last year, Valenzuela represented Europe in the inaugural Patsy Hankins Trophy against Asia-Pacific. She also helped Europe win the 2015 Vagliano Trophy, and played in the 2013 Junior Vagliano Trophy.
