Cardinal Contingent
• Stanford will be represented by sophomore Andrea Lee, sophomore Albane Valenzuela, freshman Mika Liu, senior Shannon Aubert and sophomore Ziyi Wang.
The Field
• Twelve teams, consisting of No. 39 Arizona, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 56 Cal, No. 11 Colorado, Hawai'i, No. 57 Oregon, No. 80 Oregon State, No. 7 Stanford, No. 2 UCLA, No. 12 USC, No. 26 Washington and No. 67 Washington State.
• Arizona won last year with a score of 3-over 879. Stanford, sparked by Valenzuela's final-round 70 and third place individual finish, claimed third at 13-over 889.
The Course
• Designed by Scottish golf course architect David McLay Kidd, this exclusive private club opened in 2003. Situated below Mount Hualalai on lava mantel, the scenic and challenging links-style layout meanders through 400 acres and is immaculately groomed. Wind is often a factor, forcing players to be creative. Nanea is the top course in Hawaii and one of the best in the country.
Last time out
• Stanford is competing for the fourth time this fall. The Cardinal is coming off a second-place finish Wednesday at the Stanford Intercollegiate at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California. Lee led the way by firing a final-round 5-under 67 and tied for first, her second victory this season and the fifth of her career.
• Valenzuela recorded three sub-par rounds for the Cardinal and tied for fourth with Liu. The latter produced her top showing in three starts for the Cardinal and opened with a 68.
• Wang contributed her second-best finish for Stanford, tying for 17th, while Aubert tied for 28th.
