STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford blanked Penn State Behrend 15-0 on Friday evening in the final match of the opening day at the MPSF Championship.
Tyler Abramson registered a hat trick, scoring all three of his goals after halftime. Stanford (19-4, 2-1 MPSF) seized control early, jumping out to an 8-0 advantage in the first period before building an 11-0 lead at intermission.
Also scoring twice for the Cardinal were Jackson Kimbell, Blake Parrish, Nelson Perla-Ward, Cody Smith and Marco Stanchi.
Top-seeded Stanford, which fell to USC 10-5 earlier in the day, next faces second-seeded California in Sunday's third-place game (11 a.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks) with a possible NCAA at-large bid at stake.
