WHAT RETURNS: In all, the 2017-18 roster returns 78.4 percent of its points, 80.0 percent of its rebounds and 60.0 percent of its assist from last season's team.

PAC-12's LEADING RETURNING SCORER AND REBOUNDER: Highlighting the veteran Cardinal lineup is the Pac-12 Conference's leading returning scorer and rebounder in Reid Travis. The 2017 First Team All-Pac-12 selection averaged 17.4 ppg and 8.9 rpg. He was the only player in the Pac-12 and one of only five individuals in the top six conferences to finish last season ranked in the top five of his conference in both scoring and rebounding. Travis ranked 20th nationally in offensive rebounding, 32nd in field goal percentage and 59th in rebounding last season. He was named a 2017-18 preseason All-American by ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

TOP-TIER RECRUITING CLASS: Stanford signed a consensus top-25 national recruiting class and one of the highest rated classes in school history this off-season. Standout guards Daejon Davis (Seattle, Wash.) and Isaac White (Adelaide, Australia) signed in the spring, after the fall signings of Oscar da Silva (Munich, Germany) and Kezie Okpala.

PETER SAUER CAPTAINSHIP: Head coach Jerod Haase announced the establishment of the Peter Sauer Captainship in September, naming Reid Travis, Dorian Pickens and Michael Humphrey captains. The three will wear patches on their uniforms honoring the legacy of the late Peter Sauer, a team captain and leader of Stanford's 1998 Final Four team.

CARDINAL BEGINS SECOND YEAR OF JEROD HAASE ERA: Head coach Jerod Haase, who has appeared in the NCAA Tournament 19 times as either a player or coach in his career, looks to lead the Cardinal back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since Stanford's 2014 NCAA Sweet Sixteen run. Haase enters the 2017-18 season with a 94-70 career record in five seasons (four at UAB and one at Stanford).

SCOUTING CHICO STATE: Chico State returns four starters and seven letterwinners following its second West Region Championship in four seasons and sixth straight Division II NCAA Tournament appearance. The Wildcats, coached by Greg Clink, advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight and completed the 2016-17 season 26-8. They will also face Arizona in an exhibition contest on Sunday.

WHAT'S NEW AT MAPLES: Stanford Concessions is bringing new flavors during the 2017-18 season to enhance the fan experience in Maples Pavilion. Some highlights include Maples carvery sandwiches, slow smoked brisket sandwich, Vietnamese Pho, Buffalo Chicken Breast Wrap, and Punjabi Potato Pea Samosas. Gameday favorites and soup specials will be back, including grilled bratwurst sausages, New England-style clam chowder and Brisket chili bow. For those looking to sip on something warm or fans with a sweet tooth can enjoy the Harvest Beverage and Dessert Bar which features spiced apple sider, Ghiradelli hot chocolate, and crème brulee cheesecake, warm apple caramel crisp and more! Please note: The new menu will roll out throughout the season, and items will vary depending on game time.
