Looking back, what are some of your favorite memories with Stanford volleyball?- Winning the 2016 national championship
- Getting to the Final Four my sophomore year
- Beating Wisconsin last year after being down 0-2
- Remixing Bohemian Rhapsody with my class my sophomore year for the talent show
- Grace Kennedy accidentally drinking Inky's contacts
- Meeting the team at Narnia for Bagel Day Fridays my junior year, where we'd all stuff our faces and catch up with each other's antics
- Halland's perfect game of Secret Hitler (a social-deduction board game) in preseason
- Singing in a team wide riff-off (Pitch Perfect style) outside the Original Pancake House in Oregon that lasted maybe 30 minutes and definitely drove our staff insane
- Pregame dance parties
What do you think you will miss most about this team?
Without a doubt, I will miss my teammates the most. We spend so much time together that it would be easy to get annoyed with each other, but instead it just makes us really appreciate each other's eccentricities. Everyone works so hard at volleyball and school that they inspire you to be better every day.
What do you know now that you wish you knew as a freshman?
To turn the shower light off if I was the last one out - sorry to the seniors who had to constantly call me out on this team rule when I was a freshman.
Off the court, what has been the best thing you have experienced at Stanford?
Its impossible to choose, but the best Stanford experience is your senior year spring quarter. Your entire senior class is starting to realize that their time at Stanford is winding down and everyone is determined to make it count. You spend a lot more time socializing than you probably should, but you know its worth it because it'll be the last time all your best friends are living one short bike ride away.
What has been your favorite class at Stanford?
HumBio 154A: Engineering Better Health Systems - Modeling for Public Health. Such a cool and useful class all about how to use data science to improve our public health system. I've already convinced two other teammates to take it!
Also, ArtHistory 1B: Introduction to the Visual Arts: History of Western Art from the Renaissance to the Present because Professor Nemerov is the best lecturer on campus and does an amazing job of making you connect with so many masterpieces. Have also convinced two other teammates to take this class.
What will you miss most about being a college student?
I will miss having it be perfectly acceptable to watch Netflix at 11 a.m. on a Tuesday.
What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation, I hope to play volleyball for as long as possible before working for an international health organization like the CDC or WHO as an epidemiologist.
