ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -  Stanford sailors Luke Muller, Christina Sakellaris and Sophia Sole competed at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships in St. Petersburg, Fla., over the weekend. 

On the men's side, Muller finished 12th of 18, while Sakellaris was 14th and Sole was 15th in the women's field of 18.

In his fourth career appearance at singlehanded nationals, Muller finished with 136 points. He had five top-10 finishes among the 12 races, including a third-place showing in the sixth race. Last year, Muller placed 14th after finishing runner-up as a freshman and sixth place in 2016.

Sakellaris finished strong with six top-10 finishes in the last eight races. In all, the freshman accumulated 120 points in the 12 races. Sole, also a freshman, had a pair of top-10 finishes in her first singlehanded national championship regatta, and totaled 160 points.

These three represented Stanford well this weekend at the singlehanded nationals.

Stanford wraps up the Fall season with the ICSA Match Race Nationals in Charleston, S.C., Nov. 10-11, as well as the Coed Pacific Coast Championships in Santa Barbara, Calif., Nov. 11-12, and the Big Sail against Cal on Nov. 14 at St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco.
