STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Erica Slavin has been selected to Synchro Canada's 2018 Senior National Athlete Pool, it was announced Monday.
In November, she participated in Synchro Canada's Fall Development and Evaluation Camp at the Institut National du Sport du Quebec, and was one of 15 swimmers picked for the national pool. Slavin will train with and compete for the Stanford synchronized swimming team this season and will also take part in intensive training camps in Canada in January, February and March. A final squad will be chosen to represent Canada in international World Series events in the spring and summer.
Slavin is a four-time member of the Synchro Canada National Team.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Slavin is a two-time Collegiate All-American and helped the Cardinal capture the 2016 Collegiate National Championships and finish second in 2015 and 2017. At the latter, she teamed with Clare McGovern and Sandra Ortellado to win trio, contributed to a second-place showing in team, and placed third in duet with Ortellado.
An architectural design major, Slavin garnered firsts in duet, trio and team competition at the 2016 Collegiate National Championships. She earned the Stanford Block "S" Award as the Outstanding Female Sophomore.
