Swimmer of the Month

STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Katie Ledecky was named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month by the conference office on Wednesday.

Ledecky won eight individual races in seven different events, which included an American record in the 1650-yard freestyle. Through the month of November, Ledecky owns the fastest time in the nation in the 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 free, and is the only swimmer to break four minutes in the 400 IM.

Ledecky's American record of 15:03.31 is nearly a full minute faster than any other swimmer in the nation this year, while her top time in the 1000 free is 20 seconds better than the next-best swimmer and her best time of 4:27.84 in the 500 free leads the country by almost 10 seconds.

Ledecky and Stanford went 3-0 in dual meets during the Fall and resume competition with a pair of home meets against Arizona (Jan. 19) and Arizona State (Jan. 20). The team will host an autograph session after the meet against Arizona State.
