STANFORD, Calif. – Senior midfielder Andi Sullivan is a finalist for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy, as announced Friday by the organization.

Sullivan, who hails from Lorton, Virginia, is a finalist for the second time after being named one in 2016. A three-year captain, Sullivan recently capped her exceptional Stanford career by leading the Cardinal to its second national championship on Sunday against UCLA, 3-2, in Orlando, Florida.

The 2017 Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and a four-time All-Pac-12 first teamer, Sullivan was named a Hermann Trophy semifinalist for the third time (2015-17) on Nov. 28, joining teammates Tierna Davidson and Catarina Macario on the list. A four-time All-Pacific Region selection and a three-time first-team All-American, Sullivan owns seven caps with the full United States National Team.

Sullivan concluded her illustrious Stanford career by lifting the College Cup on Dec. 1 after Stanford defeated UCLA, 3-2, and was a member of the All-Tournament team after scoring the second goal in the final. She has 20 career goals, 19 assists and eight game-winning goals. She scored three goals this season, including Stanford's second in a 4-0 win over Penn State to advance to the College Cup on Nov. 24.

Stanford's leader on the pitch, Sullivan took up a deeper role in 2017 after leading the team in goals (11) and points (29) in 2016. She controls the tempo of play, can interchange with any of Stanford's four defenders, break up play with her tackling ability, accurately deliver set pieces and is a threat to make powerful runs into the box.

She missed three games this season while on duty with the United States National Team – she was called up on Oct. 11 for games against South Korea and Oct. 31 for games against Canada. Sullivan was the 2016 Pac-12 Player of the Year, the 2014 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, a three-year captain (2015-17) and a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention (2015-17).

Sullivan joins Jessie Fleming of UCLA and Savannah McCaskill of South Carolina on the list of finalists. The Hermann Trophy has been awarded annually since 1967. This year's winners will be announced on Jan. 5 in conjunction with the MAC Hermann Trophy Banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
