STANFORD, Calif. – Nine members of the Stanford fencing team were selected to participate in the 2017 NCAA Men's and Women's Collegiate Championships, it was announced Tuesday.
The competition will be held March 23-26 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The men's squad will be represented by sophomores
Sean Strong and
Tristan Krueger in epee; fifth-year senior
Alexander Massialas and junior
Darren Mei in foil; and freshman
Samuel Kwong and sophomore
Jeffrey Dalli in sabre.
On the women's side, freshman
Amanda Han will compete in epee; senior
Eliza Klyce in foil; and sophomore
Carly Weber-Levine in sabre.
Stanford is coming off a strong showing last Saturday at the NCAA Western Regionals, where the host Cardinal won the overall championship for the 12th consecutive year. Strong, Kwong and Massialas won gold medals, while Han, Krueger and Weber-Levine claimed silver.
Massialas will be aiming for his third NCAA title in foil.
