STANFORD, Calif. – The Road to Omaha goes through Sunken Diamond. Stanford is the No. 8 national seed at the NCAA Baseball Championships, and will serve as Regional host to Cal State Fullerton, BYU, and Sacramento State, June 1-5.
Regional tickets are available here. The Regional All-Session package, which includes tickets to all seven possible games, is on sale for $60 and $45 for youth/seniors -- a significant savings over single-game tickets. General admission tickets will only be sold after all reserved seats have been sold. Single-game tickets will be available beginning on Wednesday.
As the hosts, Stanford is the No. 1 seed at the Regional and will play fourth-seeded Sacramento State at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Second-seeded Cal State Fullerton and third-seeded BYU will open the Regional on Thursday at 1 p.m. The double-elimination format continues Friday through Monday. All games can be seen worldwide on ESPN3.com.
Stanford is a national seed for the first time since 2004. If the Cardinal advances past the Regional, Stanford is guaranteed to host the Super Regionals, June 9-11 or 10-12.

"I'm really proud of this team," said head coach Mark Marquess, who is retiring after the season. "We lost our starting pitcher, two catchers and our third baseman, but we've still been able to continue to improve with a great work ethic. It has been a great season to this point, and I've tried the best I could to not think about what is going to happen after this. I have plenty of time to figure that out after it is over. For now, we are really just excited for the postseason. "
Stanford (40-14, 21-9 Pac-12) will enter the postseason with wins in 21 of its last 23 games, including four Pac-12 sweeps and six consecutive series wins. Stanford's 40 regular season wins are the most since 2004, and the most overall wins since the 2012 team racked up 41. This is the 21st 40-win season in the 41-year tenure of Coach Marquess.
The Cardinal opened the season at Cal State Fullerton and dropped the first two games before winning rallying from a 6-0 deficit to win the finale. Stanford last played BYU in a midweek game in 2012 (won, 10-9) and has not faced Sacramento State since a 6-4 midweek win in 2009.
Stanford, which has won three straight Regionals (2011, 2012, 2014), last played in the postseason in 2014, last hosted a Regional in 2012, and last reached the College World Series in 2008.
Postseason Notables• This will be the 16th time Sunken Diamond has served as host to a Regional (Stanford has advanced 12 of the previous 15 times).
• Stanford holds an all-time record of 139-72 (.659) in 32 postseason appearances.
• Stanford has won 16 of its 29 Regionals with a record of 86-33 (.723) in Regional play.
