Weekly Honor for Enriques

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford libero Evan Enriques has been voted the MPSF Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.

Enriques averaged 3.14 digs per set and had zero reception errors on 32 attempts last week on the road at No. 1 Ohio State and No. 14 Ball State.

Against the top-ranked Buckeyes, Enriques matched his season-high with 15 digs as the Cardinal took a set off the two-time defending national champions. The senior followed up that performance with seven digs and a season-best six assists against the Cardinals in a sweep for Stanford. The Cardinal held Ball State to a .066 attack percentage – the lowest by an opponent this season.

It marks the first weekly honor for Enriques and the first for Stanford this season. The Punalu'u, Hawai'i native leads the MPSF and is third in the nation with 3.00 digs per set.

Stanford returns to The Farm this week to play host to No. 7 CSUN on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion and No. 1 Long Beach State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Maples Pavilion. Admission is free to both matches.
