STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Elizabeth recorded career bests on the balance beam and in all-around, but it wasn't enough to help No. 20 Stanford upset No. 11 Arizona State on Saturday in its Pac-12 Conference opener in Burnham Pavilion.
Price turned in a spectacular performance for the third consecutive meet, sweeping every event. The national leader on floor, bars and all-around entering the meet, she posted 9.950 on beam, vault and bars, 9.925 on floor, and tallied 39.775 in all-around.

"She's a superstar," said Cardinal head coach Tabitha Yim. "She leads our team in every way and rises up in every moment. I couldn't be more proud."
Stanford hung tough in the first three rotations, as freshman Kyla Bryant delivered 9.875 on vault and 9.825 on bars. Price, freshman Lauren Navarro (9.925) and Bryant (9.900) excelled on beam.
Navarro's beam total was a personal best and helped her garner third in all-around with a score of 38.975.

"I thought Kyla had a great meet," Yim said. "She's a dynamic performer and a fierce competitor."
Stanford returns to competition next Saturday 2:30 p.m. PT at Oregon State. Although her team finished with its highest point total of the season, Yim wants players to close stronger and keep striving for perfection.
"They learned a good lesson today," she said. "Hopefully it will motivate and help us to become the team we want to be."
