STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Tarek Abdelghany was named Pac-12 Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
Abdelghany, who hails from Ladera Ranch, California, won two of four events during Stanford's Pac-12 dual meet wins over Arizona and Arizona State. He claimed the 3-meter on both Friday and Saturday, winning with scores of 389.10 and 383.70, respectively.
He also added runner-up finishes in the 1-meter springboard on both days, scoring 304.95 on Friday and improving to 334.28 on Saturday.
This is the second consecutive Pac-12 Diver of the Week award for Abdelghany, who won two of three events the Bruin Invitational on Jan. 11-13. Last season, Abdelghany finished top-five in all three diving events at the Pac-12 Championships, winning the platform (399.45).
Stanford returns to action on Feb. 3 when it travels to face USC in Los Angeles.
