STANFORD, Calif. - Senior captain Janet Hu was named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week by the conference office on Wednesday.

Hu won seven events (four individual events and three relays) and set a pool record at Avery Aquatic Center to help lead No. 3 Stanford to two Pac-12 dual victories over the weekend. Hu's four individual wins were in four different events and three different strokes.

A native of Vienna, Virginia, Hu won all four of her races in the win over Arizona State on Saturday as she broke a two-year-old pool record in the 200 back (1:53.18), then won the 100 fly and helped Stanford to victories in both relays. A day prior, she helped the Cardinal defeat No. 20 Arizona with a first-place finish in both of her individual races (100 back and 50 free) and the 400 free relay. Her time of 22.09 in the 50 free was just two-hundreths from the pool record held by Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel.

This is the first Pac-12 honor and second weekly honor for Hu this season. She was the College Swimming National Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 7.

Stanford (5-0, 4-0 Pac-12) which has won 20 consecutive dual meets, heads to Los Angeles to take on UCLA (Friday, 1 p.m. PT) and No. 13 USC (Saturday, noon). The Cardinal has one more home meet remaining this season when Cal visits Avery Aquatic Center on Feb. 10 at noon.
