STANFORD, Calif. – Defender Tierna Davidson and midfielder Andi Sullivan were named to the United States National Team on Wednesday, as announced by head coach Jill Ellis.
The 26-player camp kicks off on Jan. 6 at the United States Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, concluding on Jan. 21 with a match against Denmark. The game will broadcast on ESPN on 4:30 p.m. PT at the San Diego County Credit Union Stadium.
Davidson was the only returning collegiate player named to the squad – Sullivan and South Carolina's Savannah McCaskill were the two graduating seniors invited to the camp. Along with McCaskill, Davidson is one of two uncapped players to attend. Davidson earned a call-up to the national team camp in September and was named first-team All-America after helping Stanford win the College Cup.
Sullivan, who owns seven senior caps and is one of three finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, recently finished a remarkable four-year career at Stanford. A three-year captain, Sullivan was named first-team All-America for the third time and the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year in 2017. The Hermann Trophy will be presented on Friday at 4:30 p.m. PT on the MAC Hermann Trophy Facebook page.
Joining Davidson and Sullivan in the camp are former Cardinal Jane Campbell, Kelley O'Hara and Christen Press.
