The Lowdown
• No. 5 Stanford opens the spring portion of the 2017-18 season when it travels to Palos Verdes Estates, California, for the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.
• The Cardinal looks to build on a strong fall season in which it shelved four top-three finishes. The Cardinal also placed first in the stroke play portion of the East Lake Cup.
• Andrea Lee's 69.58 stroke average ranks fifth nationally through 12 rounds during the fall season. Mika Liu (71.91) ranks 50th.
• Ohio State is playing host to the event for the 23rd year.
The Field
• Along with No. 5 Stanford, ranked programs among the 18-team field include No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Duke, No. 7 Texas, No. 9 USC, No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 12 Northwestern, No. 13 Arizona State, No. 17 Washington and No. 20 Florida.
• Arizona, Baylor, Ohio State, San Diego State, Tennessee, UNLV and Wake Forest round out the field.
