Back in the Squad

STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Tierna Davidson earned another call-up to the United States National Team, as announced Wednesday by head coach Jill Ellis.

Davidson joins former Cardinal Andi Sullivan, Jane Campbell, Kelley O'Hara and Christen Press in the 26-player squad for the SheBelieves Cup, a round-robin tournament featuring No. 1 United States, No. 2 Germany, No. 3 England and No. 6 France.

The squad convenes in Orlando, Florida, on Feb. 19 for a week of training before travelling to Columbus, Ohio. The Americans open the tournament at MAPFRE Stadium against Germany at 4 p.m. PT on March 1. They then take on France at 9 a.m. PT on March 4 at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey before wrapping up the tournament against France on March 7 at 4 p.m. PT in Orlando, Florida.

The final match of the tournament will be played at the Orlando City Stadium, site of Stanford's second national championship in December. Davidson was named All-Tournament and Defensive Player of the Tournament.

Davidson earned her first senior cap on Jan. 21 when the United States faced Denmark in San Diego. She and Hailie Mace of UCLA are the only returning college players named in the squad.
