STANFORD, Calif. - Seniors Keaton Subjeck and Nathan Butler had their hands raised for the final time on The Farm as Stanford dropped a 23-14 decision to No. 13 Nebraska, Friday, at Maples Pavilion.

Nebraska (10-4) won six of the 10 bouts against the Cardinal (7-5), including a fall at 149 pounds, a decision at 157 pounds and a technical fall at 165 pounds to jump out to a 14-0 lead.

Wrestling for the final time at home, Subjeck dominated Nebraska senior Eric Engler with an 18-3 technical fall at 174 pounds to put Stanford on the board. Subjeck, who is ranked ninth nationally, led 6-0 after the opening period. He scored a reversal to start the second and tacked on a takedown to go up 10-1. He added three more takedowns, an escape and a stalling point to end the match in 6:30. Subjeck heads into the postseason with a team-best 24 wins and scored 41 duals points for the team this season.


Butler was next to score points for the Cardinal, posting a 7-3 decision over Nebraska heavyweight David Jensen. Ranked eighth in the nation, Butler came out and scored an early takedown and led 2-1 after the first. He also began the second period with a reversal and finished with 1:31 of riding time in the win. He improves to 23-6 overall and 9-2 in duals. 
 


Sophomore Gabriel Townsell also picked up a win for Stanford, earning a 10-4 decision over Mitchell Maginnis at 125 pounds. Leading 5-2 after the opening period, Townsell registered two more takedowns and totaled 1:10 of riding time to move to 18-11 overall and 9-3 in duals.
 


Redshirt junior Mason Pengilly scored Stanford's final three points with a thrilling 7-1 sudden victory decision over No. 19 Jason Renteria. Tied 1-1 after regulation, Pengilly scored the winning takedown in the extra frame and then turned Renteria and held on for the four count. Pengilly is now 3-0 on the season for the Cardinal.
 


Butler, Subjeck and Connor Schram, whose season was cut short in December due to injury, were honored on Senior Night during the intermission.

Up next, Stanford will travel to Corvallis for the Pac-12 Championships on Feb. 25. The finals will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
