The Lowdown
• The spring season resumes for the Stanford women's golf team when the Cardinal travels to the Bruin Wave Invitational contested in San Luis Obispo, California.
• The Cardinal seeks to defend its 2017 title, when it won the event with a 26-over 902.
• This is the ninth edition of the tournament, and the third straight at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
• Stanford has never produced a medalist at the event. Albane Valenzuela finished third in 2017 with a 4-over 223.
• Andrea Lee currently is tabbed the top-rated women's golfer by Golfweek and Golfstat. She also leads the ANNIKA Award and Arnold Palmer Cup rankings.
• In its last outing, Stanford paced the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge's 18-team field with a third-round 5-over 289, climbing two spots for a third-place finish in its spring opener.
• During the fall portion of the 2017-18 season, Stanford shelved four top-three finishes. The Cardinal also placed first in the stroke play portion of the East Lake Cup.
The Field
• No. 1 UCLA and Pepperdine will co-host the 16-team event. Along with No. 4 Stanford, the field includes No. 9 USC, No. 15 Colorado, No. 18 Washington, Cal, Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge, Fresno State, Hawaii, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Francisco and San Jose State.
