STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Dorian Pickens has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division I Men's Basketball Academic All-District Team. He is now on the ballot for Academic All-America selection.
Pickens, who owns a 3.42 cumulative grade-point average majoring in communication, is on track to graduate this spring. He is a two-time member of the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, voted to the prestigious National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court last season.
The senior forward is one of the best three-point shooters in the Pac-12, averaging a conference-best 3.1 three-pointers per game. He ranks fifth in three-point field goal percentage (.458) and eighth in overall scoring (16.0 ppg) during conference play.
Pickens' 47 threes in the last 15 games ranks as the fifth-most among student-athletes from the six major conferences (ACC, BIG EAST, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC) in that span.
Pickens was one of two Pac-12 men's basketball student-athletes selected to the Academic All-District Team, joining Oregon State's Stephen Thompson Jr.
Stanford will be back in action Thursday night, facing No. 19 Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, at 7 p.m. PT.
